‘ESCAPE ARTIST’

Material: Foam, Steel 8mm metal rods, Steel metal plate, Metal Hinge.

This sculpture has its own movements and is uncontrollable, I can never predict its character, its mood, its temper or its next move. The juxtaposing material mimics its mood change and determines its speed, direction and split motion. This sculpture sparked my interest in how sculptures can mimic a stubborn but playful human behaviour without my initial instruction or manipulation - often moving in a manner I wasn’t prepared for or expecting.
